The heartbeat. Have you ever lain with somebody when your hearts were beating in the same rhythm? That’s true love. A man and a woman who lie down with their hearts beating together are truly lucky. Then you’ve truly been in love, m’boy. Yeah, that’s true love. You might see that person once a month, once a year, maybe once a lifetime, but you have the guarantee your lives are going to be in rhythm. That’s all you need.

cold soul

No matter how careful you are, there’s going to be the sense you missed something, the collapsed feeling under your skin that you didn’t experience it all. There’s that fallen heart feeling that you rushed right through the moments where you should’ve been paying more attention. Well, get used to that feeling. That’s how your whole life will feel some day. This is all practice.

If I feel sad I will laugh.
If I feel ill I will double my labour.
If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.

If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.
If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. she loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect - you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. Hello friends! Currently at work but absolutely doing nothing since everyone is out at a meeting. These past few days have been vunderful :) i want to thank my friends for that. doing it right? hahah

recap of the weekends festivities

friday was my going away dinner before i jet off londontown. this night made me incredibly happy. beyond words! sounds extremely cheesy but it just proves what amazing friends i have in my life.

we started off the night by going to 2122, as i feel we always do before heading out? its the best cause all the girls live there! anyways we crammed into taxis and zoomed off to boss nova. a delicioussssssssss Brazilian joint. ( i would agree with lianasun that it was overpriced) an experience nonetheless. we drank 4 pitchers of mojitos which resulted in a $400 dollar bill. shietonmydick. so much money! thank you cars slash i owe you.

decided to do the yellow dolphin that night. ccaj :) after dinner, mingled outside for bit with everyone then split. one group went to amnesia. one group went home. one group went to shaunb. nick drove the following to shaunbs: cclbje
highlight = la roux!!!!!!!

when we got there shaun and jbell were juss chillin. my fave part was the girls having an impromptu dance sesh in shauns room. i wish someone recorded it. so fun. slaves and jaymal came to join the parlay for a bit, then we all eventually bounced to amnesia. on the way we grabbed lianasun! complete group. i dont really know when we got there but it was pretty crackin. the dj was dishing out some nice tunesssss. dance dance dance. hot hot hot.

proceeded to leave. bye byes to everyone again. night isn't over! ccaj + n go back to 1415 and thats where the night begins. im really surprise there wasn't a noise complaint or anything. unripes, singing, and loaaaaaaaaads of dancing commence. bed in the way late am.

the rest of the weekend = die, recover, die, still recovering

such a good way to send me off. thank you again everyone. ya'll zee best! love you.

the rest of the week has been riddled with little get-togethers and some goodbyes but its not over just yet. another 5 days in the city can bring a lot more!

greeeeeeeeece!

weekend escapades

hi friends!

lately the dynamics of my weekends have changed. since getting my id taken away, im seriously limited. not kewl! i've been doing other things besides going out to clubs....kinda. mostly im lazy all the time. i do absolutely nothing.

so recap of the week/weekend

wifey wednesday has become a staple for our summers. we sautee, we grill, we mix, we bake, and we consume. its so much fun! how can food and good conversation ever be bad. im gonna miss these wedsnedays!

thursday was a nice movie night. watched some scary movies, note to self do not sit my lo ever again. so jumpy! finally got to eat some pound cake too. buttery deliciousness.

friday was dd night. it was fun as per usual. first mj came over, watched too much trash tv, sushi bistro for good eats. then dropped the carskid at 111 for her weekly night of debauchery. SUCESS! went to noc noc on haight with the rest of the gang. called upon by carskid, so off to whisk her off. drove everywhere that night. ended with ramen and rice ( perfect in my book). funny people funny people

saturday was errand day.
BUT we did have zee bbq, which i didn't think was going to happen but it was loverly. made so much food, didn't even touch the hamburger meat. i think the french fries were the hit of the night along with the crab dip :)

sunday was probably the fuckin laziest day of my life. besides catching up and eating at ellas with justin, i stayed on the couch with elysa and cars for 6 hours. finally got up and went to get korean and ice creaaaaaaam. YEE.

so that was pretty much my weekend.

round 34?

these summer nights keep getting better and better. i'm really glad to be able to spend the summer time in the city. minus the uber cold, ugly weather. last night was another fun night with the bestest people :)

the night began with safeway, baking oreo cupcakes, and cheelin with the boys. then headed over to 2122 to get ready for the nightly adventure. made our way over to ambassador which was a little, lets say, in the older crowd. why do 35 year olds think its okay to act a fool? are you having a mid life crisis? please just go home! left ambassador to go meet up with the boys at the cellar. i found this place really kewl. it was underground-ish with a pool table, bar, and dancefloor. quite cozy i must say. one thing they were doing right was the music! had such a time dancing with the girls minus the creepers galore.

finally cellar closed then walked to otis. didn't get in because they were "closed". dumbass i can hear people still inside, thanks! anyways tired tired tired, so taxi home and pass out.

cheers to sf summer!! im seriously having so much fun even with school and work.

also, can i just point out the weeks have also been great! they've been filled with movies, going out to dinner, making dinners, and going out on random nights.

love love love

lastly, i think elysa would be the only one who loves this song as much as i do :)

some goodness in the world

Say hello to Surfrider Foundation and Satchi & Satchi LA new collaborative project. The two have teamed up to bring you the "Catch of the Day". Consisting of actual trash from local beaches, the "Catch of the Day" is packaged and put on display at farmer's market. I think the project is really smart and very inventive. Not only are they collecting trash off the beaches, it brings awareness to how we keep our environment.

"It’s site-specific, appropriate, impacting, meaningful, shocking, and an actual consumer insight into the very act they’re in the middle of. Someone about to buy fish from the same ocean as the trash in their hands can’t help but be at least a little more enlightened as to how pollution isn’t someone else’s problem. "

pianoman

Since I'm leaving for London in a little over a month, I've been browsing of kewl things happening over there.  Well this one won't be up when I get that but its worth mentioning.

"All around London its fellow pianos were waiting, too — 30 of them in a
ll — part of an interactive art project meant to challenge people to come out of their urban insularity and also to provide some summertime music.
The London project is scheduled to last until Monday and has cost about £14,000 (or a bit more than $22,000), Mr. Jerram said. The biggest obstacle was the city’s tangled, multilayered bureaucracy, which required him to obtain a separate music license for each location. He used old, unwanted pianos that people had 'chucked out,'
Best of all, Londoners have resoundingly disproved the stereotype that they are genetically incapable of spontaneous acts of public exuberance. Professionals and beginners; exhibitionists and their impromptu groupies; players of every aptitude from highly gifted to virtually talentless — all have tried their hand at the pianos."

back in the game

sorry for the long hiatus but its been a busy few weeks.
currently back in sf doing work and school.

this past weekend has been one of the most eventful and fun of the summer so far.

it all began thursday with a city girl dinner with cars, elysa, and liana at sushi bistro.  really simple things give the most pleasure!  sounds gross but you know i'm just talking about enjoying good company and good food.

friday was also a really chill night.  went to a parlay in richmond at cars friend, nick's apartment. small world! turns out he's in my class. played civil war, met new people, and turned on my swagga.  didn't get back till almost 4:00.  cuhrazy right?

on saturday, cars and i went in search for a new apartment.  that was a fail.  then watched bruno.  can we just that was the most obscene and hilarious movie?  it was def worth the money.  anyways wasn't planning on doing anything that might. made some last minute decisions and ended up at 111 minna with cars, elysa, liana.  90's party with pretty good music!  some of the essentials were lacking but can't expect everything for $10.  danced danced danced. then moved over to otis plus boys. ridiculously chill and lovely after hours club.  let me just point out one of my favorite parts of the night was just strolling through the empty sf streets.  it was just everything about being young.  roaming the streets without a care and just really enjoying  the moment.  finished the night with naan and some taxi troubles.  but no good night goes without some bumps!

overall, i had a lovely lovely lovely weekend with great friends.  it was everything about being young, carefree, and alive.

current food for thought

You think you’re waiting for help. For someone to tell you what the right thing to do is. Even though, at the back of your mind, you already know what that is. So all you’re really waiting for, is a time when you’re forced to do it.

You are not too old. You are not too young. You are not too poor. You are not too sick. You are not any of the things that stop you from doing what must be done. You are right here. You, are just right.

forever king

" Perhaps the most popular and well-known performer since Charlie Chaplin, Michael Jackson ascended to worldwide pop stardom just as a fledgling television network began broadcasting music videos on a regular basis in 1981. The combination of these two forces revolutionized video art through the 80's and 90's, making the music video a cornerstone of the pop culture conversation.

Though both MTV and Jackson have since abdicated their respective thrones, the impact of these videos is still felt today. Few musicians have understood the potential of the video as a tool for artistic expression quite like Michael Jackson. In fact, Jackson was a pioneer in longer narrative based videos. Working with directorial legends like Martin Scorcese, David Lynch and Spike Lee, these short films told stories, dazzled audiences with special effects, and carefully crafted MJ's public image. Over the course of 40 some videos and through three decades, he developed an enigmatic and compelling persona which was always based equally in reality and fiction.

Tracking these transformations on screen is nearly as thrilling as the music itself. Though many argue the influence and popularity of these videos out weighs their overall artistic merit, the pure electricity of Michael Jackson's star power is undeniable; a reminder of how fun and inspiring pop music can be.
