the city of lights never fail to disappoint during fashion week. all the heavyweights were on point. the elegance of Fall RTW 2010 was undeniable. the collections from chloe and louis vuitton brought a senes of 1950's chic. when world travel was still a distant dream and pearls were the staple in accessories. these collections offset the current fashion trend which is what i like to call the black hole. black leggies, black booties, black blazers and so on. i know that black is a go to in any decade or fashion season but lets be honestly, a little change can never hurt. i always tell my friends that i should have been born in the 50s due to my secret love of being a housewife. the collections previewed in Paris gave me a taste of old fashion glamor. its like a girl from kansas moving to the big city and changing into a complete cosmopolitan minx. the matted grey and tan colors compliment the subtle sexiness of the clothing. hey a knee length skirt can be sexy! the simplicity and sophistication just ooze of the clothing. i especially love the return of the mid-length leather gloves and luggage style bags. after looking at the collection, im ready to go raid some grandmother's closet looking for those fine wools cardigans and knee length skirts. but better question, where are my damn pearls?
